This week... we have been our normal, busy selves. Beau is still happy and healthy, eating like clock-work, sleeping and power-pooping the same... :) I will tell a fun little poop story later... And Tate is still a happy, healthy, busy little princess... Ariel, actually, is her name of choice these past few weeks and our couch/chairs have been turned into the ocean! It's amazing in here!
We have been recovering from the long week/weekend away. Both of the kids and I are basically sick of being in a car, and away from home, so we did not leave the house Sunday or Monday. It was really nice! Tuesday we were lucky enough to be able to go and swim with the Marlin's at the Smart's pool. I think this will be the nicest day of the week... as today was so rainy and cool... not complaining, I love the rain. Tate had a blast as usual --- water makes her happy --- she is like her momma there. And of course, Miss Maggie is her favorite, so she was happy as could be, which makes ME happy, too. Beau and I chilled out in the shade with Mia... swimming is not for me this summer, but watch out Summer 2010... I'll be back!
So, Tuesday we come home from the lovely visit with the Marlin girls and are getting settled in. I'm feeding Beau and of course, he does his mid-feeding poop. I always let him finish eating after this and then change him in between switching off. This SEEMS to give him time to finish his business so that I can make sure we don't have any accidents... not so much this time! I can honestly say that this never has happened to me before...and I hope it never does again. Beau decides to shoot out one last hurrah of a poop as I'm changing him, and thankfully my mouth was closed, because poop landed on my face, on my arms, shirt, pants, legs... everywhere on my body and not his. It was just looooooovely! Lovely enough to snap a picture of for your enjoyment and my records... I was in so much shock that I just kept saying... "Oh my gosh!!!" and poor Tate was in so much shock that I was such a mess that she started crying a bit... she felt bad for me, she said. Needless to say, I stripped, and proceeded to hose down my clothing outside... ick!
Beau also had his first mowing experience yesterday! The little guy has been wanting to be held more than not, and of course, I spoil, so I appease him and decided that he could just mow with me in the little sling, while Tate rode her bike in the front, and then dug for worms when I mowed in the back (yes, she is a tom-boy at times, but mainly, all girl) Well, the sling must also scream "Come and talk to me!" as all of my neighbors decided it was time to come and meet Mr. Beau as I'm trying my best to get something done in a fairly quick manner. Not so much... 2 hours later, and I'm still not done. Oh well, it was nice to chat and show off the sweet boy.
We also have a visitor with us this week... Ariel, the little mermaid, has arrived. Tate is in love with the little mermaid, and is constantly finding places to "perch" herself up on like Ariel does when she sings on the rock in the water... and sings over and over, "Part of your Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooorld" It cracks me up!!! I need to get a picture of this... as she now is adding her legs into the action, putting her feet out to the side and moving them in unison as if it is her mermaid tail... the things she comes up with! I also have become a part of this pretend play and am at times, Ursula (or Ursul, as she says), the Sea Witch, when Tate is feeling her sassy self... but lately, have been upgraded from Ursula, to Max (the dog), to Prince Eric! This is a plus! :) She is constantly going and constantly creating new things to play/do/say... she keeps me on my toes!
Wednesday, we headed down to the lake to visit with Meemaw and Aunt Dayna. But before we left, I made dinner! So proud... yes... even if it was only green beans/potatoes/sausage in the crock-pot, I still made dinner! We went down in hopes of Mommy getting a nap, and I thankfully did! (Thank you Mom & Dayna!) Dayna & I decided to put on a movie for Tate, and both of us fell asleep before Tate... who was a good girl and sat in the big chair watching her movie while we (me) snored away. I believe Meemaw found her this way and put her to bed. Beau also slept... it was a good day for sleeping... cool and rainy.
The rest of the week, we don't have too much going on, just heading to the fair Thursday night with the Marlin's and going to check out the animals and maybe ride some rides... and of course, taste test the wonderful, healthy fair food... that's my job! ;)
Until next time... Adios!
