2 year checkup

today Tate had her 2 year checkup. it was pretty uneventful except for the fact that the dr. pretty much called her a genius... just as we have suspected all along. ;) in all honesty, she had a good visit. she is now 31 and a half pounds, 35" tall and a head circumference in the 75 percentile... I still don't fully understand those percentiles... but supposedly, this is good! so, yay! Dr. Maxwell asked if she was saying more than 2 words at a time, as Tate was telling her that we were going to Target after the dr.'s to go shopping. so... about 10 words, yep... she's good. the Dr. just laughed. Then she asked about the dreaded potty training, and Tate proceeded to tell her "I just peepeed in my panties" (diaper). So... she knows what we are talking about, when she is going, and will tell which one she is doing, but refuses to use the potty unless SHE wants to go. She will almost always go on the potty before her bath, though, so that's a start!?!? Dr. Maxwell said that she is one of the bright, strong-headed ones that will just decide one day that she is done with diapers and go on the potty... let's hope that is one day SOON! She said if she isn't potty trained by 3 then we should start hardcore. 3!??!?!?! I'm thinking by next MONTH!!! Crazy doctors...

she also had a report that has made me a bit nervous, though. the dr. heard a heart murmur, so she scheduled us to go on thursday morning to methodist hospital to have an echo cardiogram just to make sure that it's truly no big deal. of course, i'm completely freaked about all of this and will be nervous and anxious until we get the results, but it all is in God's hands... and I have to believe what I say now and rest in Him that everything is just fine! i will definitely post what i find out on thursday though... hopefully we get the results right away so i can get some sleep!!!
