An Ode to Princess Tatum, the Mermaid

I think I've mentioned before how much Tatum loves the little Mermaid, and pretending to be Ariel. She loves to pretend that she is the beautiful mermaid perched upon her rock (this time it was the slide), singing to her sweet Prince Eric (aka, Beau), while the evil, sea witch, Ursula, or URSUL as she calls me (yes, I'm the lucky one who gets to be Ursul), is lurking around the corner waiting to grab her and steal her voice. Well... I caught her on camera, and on video... although I have no clue how to post from our video camera on here, so we will just have to settle for the pictures :) I love you my beautiful, little mermaid princess! You make me laugh with what creations you come up with in that pretty little head of yours...

She gave us quite a scare this past week. She complained of her legs hurting Friday night, so Meemaw gave her a good leg rub to help ease the pain. But then Saturday, she woke up with a horrible limp and was refusing to walk at all, when she would try, she would fall! It was HORRIBLE!!! Her Mommy was a mess, but Daddy was the sane one, and after a visit to the Dr., we decided to wait it out and see if she would start to feel better, or if we would head to the hospital to run tests and do x-rays. Well... she started feeling better, but still had the slight limp that seemed to go away throughout the day, but by Monday, it was back full force, and Mommy freaked. So... off to the Dr.'s again and then to the hospital for x-rays. Thank the LORD that nothing showed up on the x-rays, so the Dr. deduced it to be Toxic Synovitis... sounds worse than it is, but basically a viral infection that had run its course through her body, had decided to settle into her joints, causing her pain in her hip/knee of her left leg, and therefore causing the limp. So sad!!! But, she's a trooper, and was told to rest and watch lots of movies and drink lots of juice. Well... luckily she loves movies, and juice, and luckily it poured rain on Tuesday... so that was an easy(-ier) day to keep her on the couch than the previous... that kid does NOT like to sit still too much, especially when she is told to do so... doesn't work so well. Anyway, she still is limping, but nothing like she was, and hopefully in the next few days, she will be good as new! Until then... she is enjoying staying in her "Dora's" (jammies) most of the day, watching all the cartoons she wants and playing Hi Ho Cherry Oh and coloring with Mommy. Don't scare us like that again, Miss Tate!!! Thank you, God, that she is getting better each day, and that it wasn't anything worse, we are very lucky and thankful parents!
